PC gaming continues to deliver the best performance, but all of the attention is going to the consoles and mobile gaming platforms.

The biggest reason for this is that hardware companies make more money by creating their own consoles.  Microsoft might make some revenue when you buy your high performance gaming PC, but they make a lot more when someone buys an Xbox.

Another reason we hear more about consoles is because they are a mass market product.  Sure, there are a lot of us who love finding fast processesors and the latest graphics cards, but most people want an easy to buy and use console.  The mass market is in consoles with PC gaming being a specialized niche.

This should not discourage PC gamers.  While the attention goes to the consoles, the game industry knows that the PC gaming market is huge.  Most serious PC gamers seek out information so less marketing is required.  Just because we are hearing less about PC gaming at game conferences and in advertising, feel secure that PC gaming is here to stay.
