I really enjoy thinking about the future because the technology we get to play with just keeps getting better.
I was listening to a speech by Bill Gates a few years ago and I got excited when he said there was no reason why we had to interact with each other on a flat screen with a keyboard. He started talking about how we will interact in virtual reality with numerous options for making connections.
Some of this started coming true in the video game arena when Nintendo changed the game with the Wii. No longer were we just sitting on our butts with a controller. We now were part of the game and needed to get up and start taking action.
The Kinect from Microsoft has been a disappointment due to the lack of game options, but the idea is awesome. Now we don't even need to hold onto a controller. The game reads our actions and puts us into the game.
The Xbox is getting an upgrade that will include voice recognition. There will be a Bing search feature that allows you to tell the Xbox what you want and it will find the game, movie, show, etc... that you are looking for.
All of this technology will continue to combine until we have great game and entertainment technology platforms that will allow us to live and play in a virtual digital world with voice recognition.
I can't wait for the future.
